Venice Voices

A Novel - Forthcoming from Guernica Editions

What would happen if a character very much like Isabel Archer in The Portrait of a Lady was married to a wealthy Venetian obsessed by the Titanic, divorced him, and challenged the conventions of The Floating City by raising their daughter on her own? How would her story and her husband’s stack up against art collector Peggy Guggenheim’s, which is ruled, like theirs, by a beloved daughter, by Venice herself, and by the memory of the Titanic, on which Peggy’s father had drowned.
